I tried exactly what you said and the old cartridge won’t come out. All my stores don’t even know what the metal tool is you used to remove the old cartridge. You should have shown more clearly how that tool works to get the old cartridge out as I now have to call a plumber. 😢

What do u do if the shower valve has no threads? Is there any fitting for running pex from the valve thats not threaded?

Great Video. Do you have any concerns that the unground waste remains in the folds of the rubber like accordian connections starting to cause a restriction after time?

This is the best video for cartridge replacement. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I really appreciated the info on what cartridge to buy for replacement. I think before starting, for people like me who start and stop the video for each step, it would be good to mention that the water needs to be turned off FIRST. (I know it is mentioned after handle is removed) The extra tips and posting text on the video is absolutely informative This is a thumbs up for sure!! 👍👍👍👍

Haha I have this exact bathroom... the 50's tile (but in green) and the thick cement behind it. We're doing what was supposed to be a "facelift" remodel but now I'm learning we should probably replace the 3-handle valve and I'm overwhelmed.

How do you remove one of these? I cut the top off my flange, expecting to see the end of the barrel and its so deep in there, I can't reach the bottom to saw through

This is the video I have been looking for. This video helped me fixed my tub leak all by myself. Lol I had the 1222 and when I got to that part of the video you said “this is for the 1225 not the 1222” and what did I have the 1222 that didn’t fit. Had to push pause go to Lowe’s and get the 1225 but I opted for the 1220 cause I wanted the brass not plastic came back pushed play and viola FIXED no drip. But that pin gave me the blues, but after much tugging I got it finally. THANK YOU!!!

Only Thing I would have done different is I would have put a Union there in case the water district would have had to replace the meter in the future because now, if they do, that's going to be extremely hard to get that pex tubing off.

Almost bet you the cause is the amount of recirculating that circulating 24/7 right at a weak spot, causing a pin hole leak.

Could we speed it up more and shake the camera around faster 😁

Great video, question, how can you remove the stem if the tip is bent and the tool wont go over it. ? Renters lived in house before we bought it and we have replaced that same handle multiple times. Called a plumber and he found the tip is bent and said he cannot remove it and will have to cut a hole in the wall and remove tile, and its a big job. Cost is $1100... if anyone has any ideas on how i can remove it as i cannot afford that cost at the minute. Thank you in advance.

I recently change one. Fortunately the home owner had a box of extra tiles. I raised if to 48 ins and replace the tiles and cover the holes. Oh btw I would have use my grinder or sawsaw to that pipe
